The 2018 AP Exams will be administered over two weeks in May: May 7 through 11 and May 14 through 18. Students interested in taking AP exams will need to register for the exams they wish to take.  The location of the exam(s) will be in the Rockford Community Center. AP scores will be available online in July. To get scores, students must sign up for a College Board account by clicking here. 


Rockford High School will once again be administering the ACT + writing to all juniors. It is currently on the calendar for Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Students will not need to register online for the test. They will register here at school. If they choose to take the test on one of the national dates listed below, they will need to register at

It is recommended that you take the ACT + writing. Have your scores sent directly to colleges when you register. It is FREE to send to colleges at registration. If you need to send scores later you will pay $12 per college. Students will also need to upload a photo when they register. That photo will be printed on the student's test admission ticket and the roster provided to proctors at testing sites. Testing staff will compare the submitted photo to a photo ID and to the student in person at the testing site. Don’t forget to upload the photo, and to bring an ID with you on testing day!

Colleges/Universities that require the writing portion of the ACT


The ACT is composed of four multiple-choice sections—English, Math, Reading, and Science—and one optional essay section—Writing. 

Total testing time is 2 hours and 55 minutes for the ACT without Writing and 3 hours and 35 minutes for the ACT with Writing. The breakdown of each section is as follows:
