Rockford High School will once again be administering the ACT + writing to all juniors. It is currently on the calendar for Wednesday, April 19th.  Students will not need to register online for the April 19th test. They will register here at school.  If they choose to take the test on one of the national dates listed below, they will need to register at

It is recommended that you take the ACT + writing.  Have your scores sent directly to colleges when you register.  It is FREE to send to colleges at registration. If you need to send scores later you will pay $12 per college. Register at Students will also need to upload a photo when they register. That photo will be printed on the student's test admission ticket and the roster provided to proctors at testing sites. Testing staff will compare the submitted photo to a photo ID and to the student in person at the testing site. Don’t forget to upload the photo, and to bring an ID with you on testing day!

The ACT is composed of four multiple-choice sections—English, Math, Reading, and Science—and one optional essay section—Writing. 

Total testing time is 2 hours and 55 minutes for the ACT without Writing and 3 hours and 35 minutes for the ACT with Writing. The breakdown of each section is as follows:

The tests are given at Rockford High School in the Rockford Community Center:
  • English Literature and Composition exam will be on Wednesday May 3, 2017, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
  • United States History exam will be on Friday May 5, 2017 beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Fee information:
The cost is $42 per exam. Please pay your exam fee using your Infinite Campus Portal account. ASVAB (November 18, 2016):

Rockord High School students have the opportunity to take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) on Friday, November 18th. The test is used to help students decide their career paths after high school, as well as take a test toward a military career. The ASVAB Career Exploration program is designed to help students learn more about themselves and the world of work: identify and explore potentially satisfying occupations and develop an effective strategy to realize their goals. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is a comprehensive career exploration and planning program that includes a multiple-aptitude test battery, an interest inventory, and various career planning tools designed to help students explore the world of work.
The ASVAB is the most widely used multiple aptitude test battery in the world. It can be used to explore over 400 occupations and learn how their skills relate to occupations they are interested in.
The test will begin at 8:00 am on Friday, November 18th in the RCC and will take approximately 3 hours to complete
Please have your student sign up in the Guidance Office by Friday, November 4th if interested in taking the ASVAB test.
